Multi-Cultural Green Beans

Serves: 2-4
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp canola oil
  • 2 cups very coarsely chopped green beans - an variety or a mix and match
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved or even quartered
  • ½ cup of chopped up sausage meat
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  1. heat a skillet over medium-high heat
  2. add oils and let them warm up
  3. toss in beans and stir quickly to coat with the oils
  4. add in crushed garlic and, if you are cooking raw sausage, add that as well
  5. continue to stir until beans have become a bright green colour and are juuuust starting to soften and meat is nearly cooked.
  6. add soy sauce and give a quick stir to coat.
  7. if you are adding already cooked sausage, add it now, as well as the tomatoes
  8. turn off heat and cover the skillet with a lid
  9. let sit for 5-10 minutes depending on how soft you like your beans and tomatoes
  10. plate and eat!
this is just a base guide. Feel free to experiment with other sauces or oils and add-ons to the beans. Quantities are a guide depending on how many you are cooking for or if it's a side dish or a lunch.
