I was really looking forward to taking part in The 100 Day Project again this year after having such a great experience last year. But as April edged closer and no word came from The Great Discontent about the 2016 edition, I started to get a little worried it might not happen.
As it happens, the The Great Discontent decided to bow out of hosting the project and instead, the founder of 100 Days, Elle Luna, ran with it on her own. Either way, I was really happy it was back – it was such a great way for me to get over my perfectionist tendencies and actually sit down and produce something every day and… perhaps my favourite part… it’s a great way to find other really talented, interesting artists on Instagram!
This year, I decided to go with 100 more days of 10 minute doodles. Only, because I have a lot of travel planned during the project, I made a few small changes this time around.
Last year, I had to travel a lot and that meant hauling around the giant sketchbook I chose to use for the project. So this year, I’m using Strathmore’s 4×4 artist tiles. They’re compact and light and I can take only the number I need with me on trips, which is so much easier!
Today is Day 27 so I’m just a little past the half way mark. Here’s a sample of the most recent doodles:
You can see them all on my instagram feed and… I just got started on Snapchat <– my Snapchat code. Or you can add me by user name: mhchipmunk ! I’m showing little behind the scenes snippets and videos of my doodling and food exploits – including video of some of the artwork I do that’s not related to the project. There’s also lots of SamTheDog as well 🙂
Plus, if you like art or photography check out #the100dayproject hashtag on IG to see so many talented folks!
