This is a public service post aimed at all Vancouver bakers, whether you’re a foodblogger, a professional or somebody who makes a mean pie crust in your own kitchen.
We have all watched in shock and sorrow at the devastation that has occurred in Japan over the past few weeks and so many of us have wondered how we can help.
Melody Fury from Gourmet Fury and Joy from Gourmeted are working to put together a Vancouver Bake for the Quake fundraiser to raise money for Doctors Without Borders to assist them in their efforts to help victims of the Japan earthquake and tsunami.
The event is basically a great big bake sale on April 20th from 6:00 – 8:30pm at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre.
Right now, they are looking for bakers, volunteers and sponsors. If you think you can help out in one of these areas and you’d love to participate, you can find all of their contact info and baking guidelines at: Bake For The Quake.
You can also follow them on twitter at @BakefortheQuake
It’s a wonderful cause and I plan on being there. I hope to see you there too!
