So not only did the site get a facelift this week to kick off the New Year but, it’s also been accepted by Beer and Butter Tarts! I received the acceptance letter this morning and am excited to share the news!
Beer and Butter Tarts “is a food blog aggregator dedicated to the food and drink scene across Canada”. They are also presenting the 2010 Canadian Food Blogger Awards – we’re too late to get in on that, but maybe next year! I will post links when they’re available so you can vote for you favourite Canadian food blog in the People’s Choice Category! Be sure to check them out to see some other great Canadian food and drink content out there, or if you are a Canadian food blogger, why not apply to join as well?
Unfortunately, the only beer I have in the house is Corona. And I just did a post on butter tarts. hmmm… and I’m fresh out of poutine (well, not really, I only eat poutine once or twice a year so my arteries can hopefully remain somewhat clog free… however, if I lived in Montreal, I’m not so sure I’d show the same level of restraint.)… there’s no maple syrup in the house because I don’t actually like it… hmmmph. I’m not being very Canadian am I?
Ah well… here you go. My little New Year’s Eve nibbles: Smoked Gouda, some nice sharp Canadian Cheddar and yes… that’s a bottle of my beloved Inniskillin Cabernet Franc Ice Wine in the corner from Niagara. I’m not totally devoid of Canadian-ness! I wasn’t planning on taking any photos today so this was a bit of a scramble!
Happy New Year to each and every one of you! I hope 2011 finds you safe, warm, healthy, loved and surrounded by friends, family and wonderful food! See you all in 2011. Cheers!
oops.. the photo..
The photo was shot at 50mm, f2.0, ISO 200 at 1/125. Nothing fancy… I really did just grab some stuff and shoot. All natural light, no reflectors or mirrors.
