I almost didn’t post because I have no pictures to use and it seemed sad and cheerless not to post a photo, especially because I have been having anything but a sad and cheerless time!
I just spent a three day weekend in New York City sampling everything from pastrami on rye at Katz’s deli to a Magnolia Bakery cupcake and a lot of stuff in between. I was so busy stuffing my face that I never really did take that many photos (of the food anyway… there’s gobs of them from the rest of the trip).
Now, I’m in Toronto where the food is a lot less iconic and the restaurant scene really doesn’t rival New York or even Vancouver (sorry, folks… it really doesn’t…) but there are still some tasty eats.
Why Toronto? I’m combining a few days of work with some much needed downtime to visit friends and family.
Right now, I’m slouched down in a giant squashy chair with my feet up in one of Ryerson University’s student lounges, looking out a floor to ceiling glass window at a wall of trees changing to all the beautiful colours of autumn against an old brick wall. All while I tap away at my keyboard for a client and wait for one of my best friends to finish up his work day.
Working for yourself is tough – don’t kid yourself. But the perks make it so worth it. 🙂
Photos will follow, I promise!
