Sour Cream Peach Pie

  • 1 unbaked pie shell (9 inch)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar + ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1½ tbsp flour + ⅓ cup flour
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 egg
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • 1½ tsp vanilla
  • 1 tbsp Summerland Sweets Apple Pie Syrup (secret ingredient. You can leave it out and still have a great pie!)
  • 3 cups sliced peaches, peeled or unpeeled
  • 1 tsp ground cloves (you can sub 1 tsp cinnamon if you prefer or even 1 tsp of chai spice mix)
  • 2 tbsp butter softened.
  1. Preheat oven to 450F
  2. Mix ¾ cup brown sugar, 1½ tbstp flour and salt in a bowl
  3. Add egg and beat till combined
  4. Stir in sour cream, vanilla and apple pie syrup
  5. Add sliced peaches and toss till coated in the sour cream mixture
  6. Pour the whole mixture into the unbaked pied shell
  7. Bake at 450F for 10 minutes
  8. While pie is cooking at 450, mix together remaining brown sugar, flour, cloves and butter with your hands - it should resemble pea gravel when you're done
  9. Spread topping over the pie after it has baked for ten minutes
  10. Lower oven temp to 350F and bake for 40-45 minutes
  11. Topping should be crunchy and golden and fruit juices should be bubbling and starting to ooze through.
  12. Serve warm with ice cream and a drizzle of more Apple Pie Syrup. It also serves very well cold!
