Winter at Iona

Iona beach has been one of my favourite beaches for the last little while – it’s the perfect spot in the lower mainland to catch the sunset – especially at low tide.  So when Ethan asked me if I wanted to go photograph the sunset on Saturday night, this is the spot I said we should hit.

It was perfect except… there was no sun.  Oh well… the life of photographers.  This is what we saw instead:

Dog, driftwood, tripod and ocean

Sam found himself leashed to a piece of driftwood after knocking me off my feet and onto my butt (good thing it was a soft sandy landing!) and Ethan had even brought him a frisbee to play with – the yellow thing. He buried it while we were taking pictures and we never found it again.

The lights at the parking lot waiting for us.

When it’s sunny, you will see this, which was oddly enough taken in almost the exact same spot around the same time a year ago:

Hope you all had a good weekend!

I still like these sea pictures… maybe because it’s the sea?

That sunset shot is beautiful and I love all the shots with all of the blues in them. Looks like you and Ethan and Sam had a lovely outing. I’m sure Sam will dig up the lost Frisbee on his next trip back ;)

I absolutely love that final shot. So wonderfully west coast.
